Outer Nanda Devi Sanctuary-Kuari Pass


Day 01 – Arrival New Delhi.
Meeting upon at IGI – Indira Gandhi International Airport and transfer to hotel.
Most International flights lands in night – if somehow, landing is in day, later part of the day can be utilized in visiting Red Fort, Chandini Chowk like places.

Day 02 – Delhi – Haridwar, 230 kms, 6-7 hrs drive,
Morning breakfast, afterwards drive to Rishikesh 6 hrs approx.. Rishikesh the most famous meditation and spiritual center. Situated on the banks of river Ganges. Surrounded by Shivalik range of lower Himalayas on three side. Also its the starting point of all four sacred shrines. Check into hotel evening visit surrounding of Rishikesh : Laxman Jhula and Ashrams. Overnight hotel.
Day 03 – Haridwar – Vikas Nagar Ghat
Travel from Haridwar to Vikas Nagar Ghat.  We start early and breakfast shall be enroute – expect some stuffed potatoes Paratha with pickle and Tea …very famous breakfast menu of this region. Its a long travel on banks of the river #ganges. We will stopping enroute for tea / washroom / Lunch and by evening we shall  be reaching Ghat.

Day 04 – Ghat-Ravni Walking Time 4-5 hrs.
Now road was being constructed to reach deep in forest Ravni village which in older time used to make hand made cloths and ornamnets to be sold in distant markets. Situated in dense jungle, Ravni is a village which is fast becoming “known” due to reach of the road.  Once a tribal village which was cut off from civilized world – these days #ravni has cemented houses and couple of satellite dish antennas too.

Day 05 – Ravni-Jhinji Walking Time 4-5 hrs.
A trek which will engrave a memory on your mind. Walking in high bushes, dense jungle and scenic views….Jhinji is a tribal area which used to have links with Tibet in ancient times. Walking through dense jungle, Jhinji can give you idea of what #jimcorbett wrote in his books about Gharwal Jungles.  Precautions like not to use strong scents, walk in group and do not venture off the trail.

Day 06 – Rest Day :
Use this day for mixing up with village folks, photography and you can buy local warn and other handmade things. Jhinji used to have soldiers serving in Indian Army. These days village has changed and you may see a bit of materialization.

Day 07 – Jhinji-Pana Walking Time 5-6 Hrs.
Gradual ascending through pine forests and then descending to valley floor, again ascending to establish camp. Dense forest walk, you may feel humid in bushes. A normal walking pace should make you reach by 2 PM – you can spend couple of hours in village, photography. This tribal village is one of the oldest in this region.

Day 08 – Pana-Kuari Pass ( 4268m) -Domabita
Gradual ascending to the footsteps of Kuari Pass. By Himalayan standards, this is no tough job and view from top of Kuari Pass is spectacular. Descend gradually to camping place of Domabita. We are moving through grasslands, meadows and slowly slowly making up to high altitude.

Day 09 – Rest Day.
Day 10 – Dombita-Auli Walking Time 4 hrs.
Gradual walk through jungle and then high pastures to Auli which is also a ski resort and ITBP training centra. Do not take pictures of uniform people and their buildings. You can descend down through cemented stairs to Joshimath.
Day 11 – Back Travel
You can reach either Haridwar OR can reach Badrinath.
Day 12 – Reaching Delhi-hotel stay. Tour End !
OPTION: You can combine this trek with Hom Kund [ Shail Samudra Glacier ] and Roop Kund but this combo trekking requires some prior experience of trekking in high altitudes- combo trek is not recommended for FIRST TIMERS.
